Mt. Fuji Travel Adventure!
Girl Scout Cadettes (ages 12 and older) are able to travel alone with parent permission. From South Korea and Okinawa, girls will travel to mainland Japan where they will be escorted to Camp Zama to sleep at Zama Lodging with other Travel Pathway participants. Girls will be spending the following day and night at MCB Fuji meeting other participating girls, being briefed on climbing Mt. Fuji, practicing safety and emergency outdoor skills, and doing team-building activities. On the 22nd, girls will climb a portion of Mt. Fuji, then sleep in a mountain hut on the mountain! Girls will wake up before dawn and finish the climb to the summit where they will have a sunrise ceremony and Girl Scout’s Own to celebrate this once in a life-time experience. Girls will then descend the mountain and return to MCB Fuji to reflect on the experience and compile photos and videos for a girl-led media piece on the climb. Girls will then be transported back to Camp Zama where they will take the subway into Tokyo for dinner and then and fly home the next day.
Fuji Climb is limited to 19 girls and all girls must fulfill the pre-requisite conditioning and get signed off by the required individuals. Read it here.
